Nottingham whitewater weekend 22nd and 23rd of September 07
The London and South East Region, white water training weekend is taking place at Holme Pierrepont on the 22nd and 23rd September this year.
The weekend is divided into sessions, the idea is to assign the relative beginners and the more experienced paddlers to different sessions, this will maximise the enjoyment and learning opportunities for both groups. The flow of water on the slalom course will be gradually increased during each day providing opportunities for paddlers of all levels of ability – from novice to advanced – to enjoy the course. Remember that the lowest flow will be at the very start of each day, low flow considerably reduces the force of the water however, the current is still fairly strong and beginners may have to swim on occasions. There will be safety cover in the form of people with throw lines along the course and especially at the more difficult/interesting places. There will also be the usual throw line and swimming training sessions, a fun down the course race, trade stalls and more .... This is the ONLY time each year when the course has low flow rates making it suitable for beginner training The cost for the weekend is £15 per person If you would like a ticket please send a cheque made payaple to: BCU Before 5th September with your BCU number written on the back to:-WhiteWater Action Medway
