9.00am Booking in for those who have not sent in entries, please try to get them in it does help to get the event running smoothly, we will not have too many daylight hours.
There will be some slalom coaching Saturday morning,
10. 30 Am. - all division 4 paddlers are invited to have a run through the rules and regulations of a Slalom competition.
Practice runs will start at 11:00hrs and 1st runs 12.00hrs
Team Races after main event approx: 4pm
In team races, teams of three boats work together for the fastest possible time. The team time is taken from the time the first boat starts to the time the third boat finishes - but there's a big penalty if the third boat doesn't finish within fifteen seconds of the first.
Team racing means working together, coordinating movement to stay close together. Good teams interweave on upstream gates.
Most people treat the team competition less seriously than the individual competition and have a lot of fun doing it.
Sunday times will be an hour earlier.
The Kent and Sussex Open will follow on after the main event on Sunday with back to back runs. These times are provisional dependent on the flow of water.
In the evening for those of you staying we will hopefully have a bonfire, so please bring some fire works. We will have usual hot chocolate drinks and marshmallows to toast.
Don’t forget the clocks change on the Saturday night, one hour more in bed, or one hour more
to paddle in the morning!!
This event will also be the last one in the Region to count towards the
L&SER 2011 Grand Prix series, and slalom ranking.
Please email entries to; hastingscanoeclub@gmail.com and bring along to the event your completed card signed (by a parent or legal guardian if under 18yrs).
Division 4 paddlers either need to hold their own BCU membership, or if junior belong to an affiliated Club (bring proof e.g. Club membership card) or take out a BCU event ticket on the day.
